Kg’akg’am was born in Ghanzi and moved to D’kar later in her life together with her father and children. She joined the Kuru Art Project in 2005. Her vibrant paintings resemble bold contrasting colours that evokes a cheerful feel amongst viewers. Her subjects vary between the traditional life of her people and the natural environment of the Kalahari. While working on her art she often remembers the stories about the hunter-gatherer lifestyle from her ancestors. She enjoys the creative process and proclaims that it gives her confidence and that art have made a great change to her life. Kg’akg’am works in various mediums and apart from painting she also makes extraordinary linocuts.
