Sholex grew up in D’kar and has an extensive knowledge of the wildlife and vegetation of the Kalahari. His talent as an artist was noticed when he took part in a woodcarving workshop hosted by the Kuru Art Project. He joined the art project as an artist in 2018. His linocuts convey strong graphic qualities with intricate lines and strong contrasts. With utmost care and attention to detail he articulates his close relation to nature. He prefers printmaking, and more specifically linocuts, although his paintings also stand out for the precision in which they are made.
