Tabax’ae was born and grew up in D’kar. In 2018 she made her first painting when she was persuaded to participate in a workshop to select new artists for the Kuru Art Project. She enjoyed it very much but was not convinced that she will be able to be an artist. She has since made lovely artworks and continues to surprise. Tabax’ae draws her inspiration from the plants and animals endemic to the Kalahari veld that has always formed a significant part of her life. There is a sensitivity that predominates Tabax’ae’s work and her unique way of conveying her subject matter lends to great originality.
